Avoid putting too much on credit cards to keep up your financial health. While these cards are good to have in an emergency, if you are putting lots of non-essentials on them, you will just end up with higher and higher monthly payments that will become more and more difficult to afford. While you do want to have some activity on these cards to help your credit score, try not to put too much on every month.

Also try to find where you may be sending money where you don’t need it. If you are never home, is there a good reason to have cable? Do you really need to buy that frappuccino every day when a coffee from home will work just fine? How much do you spend going out to lunch every day? How much could you save by not going out just one or two days a month? All of these little things can really start to add up over time, and by addressing just a few, you could really save some money.
